Here is a selection of images from previous East Midlands missions to Japan. We organised networking events at the British Embassy with over 200 local guests attending. Delegates presented their products and services at an exhibition in the New Hall at the British Embassy, before moving to a larger networking event at the Ambassadors residence.
Some delegates invited their own Japanese contacts to attend the event at the Ambassadors Residence, others used the resources of UKTI in Japan to make invitations on their behalf.
The Japanese media were in attendance, and we received good coverage.
Each Delegate also had a bespoke program of meetings with prospective customers and partners in Japan, set up in advance via the UKTI Overseas Market Introduction Service.
In total, we arranged 92 individual ‘one to one’ meetings, involving 22 delegates representing 12 UK organisations. By the end of the week, £43K of orders had been placed with the companies attending.
But more importantly, good long term business relationships had been formed, leading to a forecast of almost £2M pounds of orders within 12 months. Following the visit, we contacted the delegates to get their feedback, and were delighted to receive an 88% approval rating for the mission.
Participating companies last year were from a wide range of business sectors; Technology, Giftware, Garden Products, Building Materials, Green Energy, Art, Fashion, Automotive, Clothing and all reported good interest and opportunities from the bespoke meetings set up in advance.
There are many sectors of business opportunity in Japan, and we hope to welcome you to participate in the upcoming 2013 Mission to Japan, please contact us with any questions, we look forward to hearing from you.
