BLJ’s Steve Crane presents on “How to Succeed in Japan” at the BCCJ’s Entrepreneur Small Is Great Event VI: The Entrepreneur’s Ecosystem
May, 2014 – Our very own Founder and CEO, Steve Crane, joined BCCJ’s Small is Great Event VI: The Entrepreneur’s Ecosystem event to give out valuable advice on doing business and Japan and his top tips on being successful in Japan.
Taking cues from his own experience, Steve advised entrepreneurs’s to be open for opportunities and keep potential hires on radar. Although he considers himself lucky to be successful, he believes he has put himself in such places where luck would favour him. Apart from recommending that businesses should higher skilled people, he strongly emphasised the importance of investing in people and rewarding them for their hardwork. Steve believes that highly skilled people with local knowledge are one of the key factors to be successful in Japan.
In a Q&A session afterwards BCCJ members quizzed Steve on how he managed his time, leveraged contacts within the British business community in Japan, and found the right employees.
