Students from the county learning Japanese joined business leaders from Japan and the UK in an effort to improve trade links between the two countries. Pupils from Southwolds School impressed the Japanese Ambassador Shin Ebihara. The aim was to highlight the mutual benefits of working together in business and tourism.
UK Trade & Investment, the government organisation that provides integrated support services for UK and Business Link Japan want to ensure that firms are fully exposed to the opportunity of potential that exists for Japanese export. Steve Crane, Founder & Director of Business Link Japan said he was pleased about opportunities in Japan.
He said “I am delighted Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire get the opportunity to learn about business possibilities in Japan on such a large scale.” “Loughborough hosting the Japanese Olympic team will mean hundreds of athletes and support staff will come to the East Midlands over the next three years”
